Origin and Habitat
The Umbra Hoof originates from the concealed basin of Liraeon, a non-existent geographic point situated at 12°S, 33°E, deep within a network of bioluminescent caves. Adults weigh around 450 kg and stand about 130 cm tall at the withers. They are rarely seen outside their isolated home, which contributes to their status as a critically obscure breed.
Temperament and Behavior
These creatures display a calm, introspective demeanor. They tend to move slowly, favoring dim illumination and avoiding direct sunlight. Their social structure is tight-knit, often forming small herds that communicate through low-frequency moans audible only in stone corridors.
Care and Feeding
Proper husbandry requires a shaded enclosure with filtered twilight light. Diet consists primarily of specially cultivated mosses and fungi found on cave walls, supplemented with mineral-rich clay. Water must be cool and slightly acidic to mimic natural springs. Because they are photosensitive, routine veterinary checks focus on eye health and skin pigmentation.
